Jo is a registered clinical psychologist with experience working with adults and older adults in both the private and public sectors. She uses evidence-based therapies including Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioural Therapy (DBT), brain based therapy and Eye Movement Desensitization Therapy (EMDR). Jo aims to provide compassionate and time efficient therapy tailored to the specific needs of each individual. With a background in critical care and emergency nursing, she has an holistic approach to assessment and treatment which she can apply to a range of problems including depression, anxiety, adjustment to life transitions, grief and loss, relationship issues and post traumatic stress disorder (PTSD). Jo has a special interest in the area of trauma and since 2012 has been utilising EMDR therapy to support change and growth with people suffering from the effects of trauma – in its many forms. In all her work, Jo collaborates with the client to ensure that therapy is a safe, friendly and effective process.
